Why RAID computers?
Raid computers offer local data redudancy. Data is duplicated onto two different hard drives, so if one hard drive fails, the data is still available on the remaining 'healthy' hard drive. Insert a new secondary hard drive, and the data RAID will rebuild itself again.
Do I need to backup a RAID computer?
Yes, RAID computers are great, but viruses/ransomware or other unexpected issues can still affect your data. Purchase a few portable USB backup drives, automate backups daily, swap the USB drives out daily, and/or subscribe to an online backup service. Online backup is convenient, but much slower to restore 'large amounts - terabytes' of data from the Cloud.
